Mission

Vision

To provide affordable and accessible platform for microgravity R&D and manufacturing and validate artificial gravity.

Acceleration towards industrialization of space, de-industrialization of the Earth and permanent habitation in LEO and beyond.

The BM and MGSD modules were structurally/functionally reconfigured to make the z-axis the principal axis of maximum moment of inertia. This design modification aims to mitigate the risk of dynamic instability during off-nominal scenarios involving uncontrolled or pure spinner rotation.
These design changes also incorporate more favourable docking port location (end of the Industrial section, along the z-axis) and safer booster thrusters locations.

To satisfy the 1.2 MOI factor, further 10% mass reduction across Industrial sections and 10% mass increase of Habitation section will be required.

13/03/2025 – GST-01 revision 1

Two significant adjustments were made to both Industrial Sections of the orbital segment:

1. The second MGSD and the second Escape Vehicle were deleted and the remaining modules recofigured due to problematic docking location on the second MGSD (too close to rotating structure) and close proximity of the Escape Vehicles to MGSD modules.

2. The design of the BM modules was adjusted to accommodate the new booster thruster locations, ensuring thrust vector alignment with the direction of travel for the revised GST-01 attitude orientation.

More detailed explanation discussed here.
